Jimael Johnson

Jimael Lawson Johnson is a Leadership Anchorage alumna with over 20 years of experience in nonprofit and public service. Her current work includes managing federal grant programs supporting rural Alaska community development and environmental health. Her background includes philanthropy and grantmaking roles at Rasmuson Foundation and the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority, with a focus on maternal and child health and disability advocacy. Jimael’s expertise in community health and funding partnerships enables her to collaborate with local and national organizations to improve the lives of Alaskans.

She volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect and serves on the board of PIC (Program for Infants & Children), which provides early intervention services in Anchorage. Jimael holds a BA in Human Services from Alaska Pacific University and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
