Transracial Parenting Workshop with Isaac Etter

Join us for a two-part workshop on Transracial Parenting on June 30, 2026 from 10AM-1:30PM.
Session 1: The Understanding and Supporting Transracial Adoptees and Fosterees with Isaac Etter This workshop covers the fundamentals needed to be a great transracial adoptive parent. This presentation will cover Isaac Etter’s transracial adoption experience, understanding bias, racial identity development for adoptees, and Isaac’s practical guide to transracial adoption. You will laugh and learn from Isaac’s story of growing up as a Black boy in a white family. They will get a deeper understanding of bias and how to address bias in themselves, how to support their child’s racial identity development, and a practical guide of what to do and conversations to have in every age group.
Session 2: Protective Styling Done Right: Caring for Your Black Child’s Hair with Confidence with Terria Roushun This workshop is designed to equip adoptive and foster parents, especially non-Black parents raising Black children, with a clear, compassionate, and culturally grounded understanding of protective styling. You’ll learn the true purpose of protective styles, how to maintain those styles week to week, and how to spot and avoid the most common mistakes parents make. From choosing styles that support growth to understanding how protective styling can build confidence and emotional connection, this session is packed with insights you won’t find on YouTube.
