Indicators of Child & Adolescent Stress

May 13 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Children and adolescents often express stress differently than adults, and these signs may be misunderstood during family contact. This session helps practitioners recognize key verbal, behavioral, emotional, and physiological indicators of stress and anxiety across developmental stages. Attendees will gain language and frameworks that differentiate typical stress from patterns suggesting a need for additional support. Participants will learn: • Age‑specific signs of stress and anxiety in school‑age children and teens • How stress may appear during transitions, reunification, and separation • When observed behaviors may signal deeper difficulty • Sensitive, developmentally appropriate responses facilitators can use in the moment Presenter: Michelle Rozenman, PhD — Associate Professor of Psychology, University of Denver; Director of the BRAVE Lab; Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Attend virtually or in-person at the Mat-Su Health Foundation Building!
