The Alaska Statewide Summit on Aging will address the growing needs of Alaska’s senior population focusing on innovation, cultural relevance and transforming the way we think about aging. Sessions will explore how Rural Health Transformation and other statewide reform efforts intersect with aging and disability services, including healthcare access and care coordination, dementia and chronic disease prevention, senior behavioral health, aging with intellectual and developmental disabilities, healthcare workforce capacity and provider sustainability, elder justice and housing and home- and community-based services that support aging in place. Content will be organized into targeted tracks for different audiences while maintaining a shared statewide perspective. Key goals include inspiring policy support for safe and independent aging, fostering cross-sector collaboration, generating actionable outcomes and shared advocacy priorities, and supporting development of Alaska’s next State Plan for Senior Services.

Important Registration Details:

Parking is limited at Turnagain Social Club. We encourage carpool and rideshare services. A shuttle will also be provided to and from additional parking across the street in the Home Depot parking lot.

Alaskans ages 65+ and individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) have waived in-person registration fees. These spaces are limited, and registration is required. We are not accepting walk-ins at this time. We kindly request that you only register for the day(s) you plan to actively attend and participate in sessions. This helps make the Summit more accessible to all interested Alaskans. The Summit is approved to offer Continuing Education (CE) to the following:

And IACET representing the following professions:

• Administrative and operational staff
• Human resources, compliance, and quality professionals
• Information technology and informatics teams
• Care coordinators, patient navigators, and social support staff
• Chaplains, spiritual care providers, and pastoral counselors
• Funeral service and bereavement professionals who interact with patients and families

Attendees can receive up to 21 hours of CE at the Summit. Certificates of attendance are also available upon request. Both virtual attendees and in-person attendees are eligible for CEUs. There will be one CEU sign-in at the start of each Summit day.
