This course is an introduction and overview of Medicaid Home and Community Based Waiver Care Coordination role. This course is required for Care Coordination Certification and needs to be attended prior to taking Care Coordination Core Units offered by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services Senior and Disabilities Services. This five-hour interactive course discusses How to Serve Someone with a Disability, Skills of Interaction, Advocacy, Ethics and Person-Centered Planning as a Care Coordinator.
