This class will provide an introductory overview of traditional uses of Indigenous plants by Alaska Native people and how  plants as food, medicine, and textiles are an integral part of the culture. 

This discussion provides introductory information on the  interdependent relationships between plant relatives and Indigenous Peoples of Alaska. Participants will be introduced to beliefs, attitudes, and knowledge of traditional Alaska Native ethnoherbalism practices and understanding the benefits and necessity of culture for health and wellness.

Learning Objectives:
*Participants will increase knowledge of foundational information on plant uses in Alaska Native cultures.

*Participants will be introduced to cultural ethnoherbalism terms and concepts.

*Participants will have increased capacity to help promote resiliency among the people and communities they serve.
