Learn the skills. Help save a life. Suicide is preventable. Anyone can make a difference.
This two-day interactive workshop offers you a space to learn suicide first-aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may be at risk of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, participants don’t need any formal training to attend the workshop — ASIST can be learned and used by anyone.
Doors will open at 8 a.m. and lunch will be for one hour on your own each day.
This training offers 14 Continuing Education (CE) hours from the Alaska Police Standards Council (APSC) and 14 Continuing Medical Education (CME) for Fire and EMS personnel.
This training is being held in partnership by ANTHC, the Alaska Training Cooperative, the University of Alaska Anchorage Center for Human Development, and the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority.
